Samenvatting
Berlin in the building! For as long as I remember I have been wondering what the capital of Germany would be like. The funny thing is: this trip was not even fully intended. My girlfriend and I were deciding on our destination and almost pulled the trigger on the promising city of Budapest. We overthought and overthought and overthought. And suddenly it became clear: we should go to Berlin!
Firstly, I thought this trip could miss out on that special and unique vacay feeling, because Germany is so closeby and it almost feels like an extension of the Netherlands. I had seen West Germany before, but never the East. Now I can gladly confirm that it has been a wonderful exploration of such a characterizing city with things to see and do on every corner.
On another note, Berlin has not always been what it is now. Especially due to World War II, Germany had been torn apart and lived in uncertainty and stress. It took years to overcome and there are heaps of monuments and museums that remind us to it.
Flying 650+ kilometers in eastern direction let us explore all interesting sights Berlin has to offer, albeit in such a heat that we used to hop from stand to stand to purchase ice cream or anything similar to cool off.
No regrets whatsoever.
This book depicts my personal experience in a way to inspire, excite and entertain you as a lucky viewer. Let’s not waste any more time.
