Samenvatting
International commercial transactions require clear agreements regarding risks, rights and obligations between a buyer and a seller. Incoterms provide this clarity. Their purpose is to clearly define transaction costs and responsibilities between a buyer and a seller. Provided the Incoterms are interpreted and implemented correctly, they provide certainty, clarity and they are conclusive for all parties. As of January 2011, the eighth edition Incoterms 2010 came into effect. In this manual, Dutch export trouble shooter Piet Roos uses his twenty five years of experience to explain the Incoterms. He presents case histories of success and failure and offers useful advice. Sellers and buyers often don¿t fully realise what the advantages and consequences of using the Incoterms are. This manual presents vital insight and experience for exporters, importers and logistics service providers.
